Lorepa Wangchug Tsondru  b.1187 - d.1250

Lorepa is considered the founder of a branch of the Drugpa Kagyu called the Me Drug, or “Lower Drugpa.” A very important teacher during his times, he exemplifies the life of solitary meditation under often difficult circumstances.

Nyo Gyalwa Lhanangpa Sanggye Rinchen  b.1164 - d.1224

One of the most important disciples of Jigten Gonpo, Nyo Gyalwa Lhanangpa Sanggye Rinchen founded a significant sub-branch of the Drigungpa, one that continued to be important in Bhutan until the 17th century under the name of the Lhapa. He had a reputation in his time as one of the most generous patrons of the monastic order.

Won Sherab Jungne  b.1187 - d.1241

Won Sherab Jungne was the compiler and author of the core texts of the Single Intention. A philosophical cycle that revolves around key statements made by Jigten Gonpo, it is still regarded as a one of the main teachings of the Drigung Kagyu lineage. It is for this and for his important biography of his teacher that he is best known today.
